November is very much a time of letting go. Nature reminds us that it’s time to release all that we do not need before we retreat for the winter.

As the trees shed their leaves and the cold winds wrestle the last remaining few to the ground, we are reminded of the death that naturally occurs in nature at this time of year. It can seem merciless and harsh, but it’s needed and a natural part of the cycle of nature and of life in general.

So what will you release? What does no longer serve? What clogs up your home, your wardrobe your thoughts that is no longer needed and that may be dragging you down energetically?

When we release things we automatically make room for new things and experiences to come into our lives. And I love this affirmation to help let go:

“I let go of that which is no longer serving me and trust that something better will take its place.”

But letting go can be hard. Often we hang onto things out of fear of losing out or that something bad will happen. It all comes down to trust and faith and not least the release of control. The trees don’t hang on to their leaves fearing they may lose them forever. If they don’t let go, the winter storms may break their branches, so letting go is vital.

If you are struggling to let go then you may want to journal on the following question to see what comes up for you: What are you currently hanging on to out of fear? And what would possibly happen if you just let it go?

All the best
